Wastewater analysis aims to determine the concentration of water from different sources, to determine the parameters in common waste water, there are 3 types of wastewater generated:
– Industrial production wastewater
– Domestic wastewater
– Medical waste water
1. Industrial production wastewater
Industrial wastewater is water discharged from the production processes of production and business units such as water generated from dyeing, iron and steel processing, wood processing and paint processing..
Depending on the type of production of the enterprise, industrial wastewater usually has 33 parameters to be analyzed according to QCVN 40: 2011 / BTNMT.
Manufacturing industries such as textile dyeing, pulp, textile and rubber processing apply specific standards for each industry as follows
– National technical regulation QCVN13-MT: 2015 / BTNMT on textile industrial wastewater with 10 parameters (Temperature, pH, color, BOD5, COD, TSS, Cyanide, Residual Chlorine, Chromium VI Cr6 +, Total surfactants)
– National Technical Regulation QCVN 12: 2015 / BTNMT on pulp and paper industry wastewater issued by the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment with 8 parameters (Temperature, pH, color, BOD5, COD, TSS, easily absorbed organic Halogen (AOX), Dioxin)
– National Technical Regulation QCVN 13: 2015 / BTNMT on textile and dyeing industrial wastewater issued by the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment with 10 parameters (Temperature, pH, color, BOD5, COD, TSS, Cyanide, Residual Chlorine, Chromium VI Cr6 +, Total surfactants
– National Technical Regulation QCVN 01-MT: 2015 / BTNMT on natural rubber preliminary treatment wastewater issued by the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment with 6 parameters (pH, BOD5, COD, TSS, Total Nito , Amoni)
– National technical regulation 52: 2017 / BTNMT on steel industrial wastewater produced by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, including 24 parameters (Temperature, color, pH, BOD5, COD, Total suspended solid , Total cyanide, Total phenol, Total mineral grease, Ammonium, Total Nitrogen, Total Phosphorus, Sulfur (S2-), Fluoride (F-), Mercury (Hg), Chromium VI (Cr6 +), Total Chromium (Cr), Lead (Pb), Cadmium (Cd), Copper (Cu), Zinc (Zn), Nickel (Ni), Manganese (Mn), Iron (Fe))
– Vietnam Standard TCVN 5945: 1995 on industrial wastewater – waste standard
2. Domestic wastewater
Domestic wastewater is water discharged from daily activities such as bathing, washing, washing, eating, cleaning from employees of residential works, schools, hospitals, agencies, restaurants, hotels … if this water is not treated, it will become a very serious source of environmental pollution.
Indicators in domestic wastewater need to be analyzed according to the National Technical Regulation QCVN 14: 2008 / BTNMT on domestic wastewater, issued by the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, including 11 criteria (pH, BOD5, TSS , Total dissolved solids, Sulfur, Ammonium, Nitrate, Animal and vegetable fats and oils, Total surfactants, Phosphates, Total Coliforms)
3. Medical waste water
Medical waste water is a type of waste water generated during the process of medical examination and treatment from hospitals, general clinics, preventive medicine centers, preventive medicine …
Indicators in medical waste water need to be analyzed according to the National Technical Regulation QCVN 28: 2010 / BTNMT on medical waste water issued by the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, including 15 indicators (pH, BOD5, COD) , TSS, H2S, Ammonium, Nitrate, Phosphate, Animal and vegetable fats and oils, Total radioactivity α, Total radioactivity β, Total coliforms, Salmonella, Shigella, Vibrio cholerae)
