Analysis of domestic wastewater
What is domestic wastewater?

Domestic wastewater is water discharged from human activities such as eating, bathing, personal hygiene.

Water sources receiving wastewater are surface water sources or coastal seawater, with defined uses, where domestic wastewater discharges into.

According to the provisions of the law on environmental protection, the National Technical Regulation QCVN 14: 2008 / BTNMT is the standard that stipulates the maximum allowable value of pollution parameters in domestic wastewater when discharged into the environment. . And this regulation is applied to public facilities, barracks of armed forces, service establishments, apartment buildings and residential areas, enterprises discharging domestic wastewater into the environment. The value of pollution parameters (composition of domestic wastewater) as a basis for calculating the maximum value allowed in domestic wastewater is prescribed in the following table:

1 pH 5 – 9 5 – 9
2 BOD5 (200C) mg/l 30 50
3 Tổng chất rắn lơ lửng (TSS) mg/l 50 100
4 Tổng chất rắn hòa tan mg/l 500 1000
5 Sunfua (tính theo H2S) mg/l 1 4
6 Amoni (tính theo N) mg/l 5 10
7 Nitrat (NO3–) (tính theo N) mg/l 30 50
8 Dầu mỡ động, thực vật mg/l 10 20
9 Tổng các chất hoạt động bề mặt mg/l 5 10
10 Phosphat (PO43-) (tính theo P) mg/l 6 10
11 Tổng Coliforms MPN/ 100ml 3 5

There are 11 typical parameters of domestic wastewater, among them

Column A defines the value of pollution parameters as a basis for calculating the maximum value allowed in domestic wastewater when discharged into water sources used for domestic water supply purposes.

Column B specifies the value of pollution parameters as a basis for calculating the maximum value allowed in domestic wastewater when discharging into water sources not used for domestic water supply purposes.
